Outreach

The Foundry has focused their local outreach on the Bethlehem House , a homeless shelter located in the heart of downtown Conway. The Bethlehem House is a ministry that encourages, empowers and motivates local homeless families and individuals to change their current life situation. We will be working monthly at the shelter which will include renovating, landscaping, cooking, and ministering to the residents.

 UPCOMING EVENTS

November 16th thru December 14 - Coat & Blanket Drive

We will be collecting new or gently used blankets, coats, hats, and gloves. Please bring donations to New Life Church weekend services between November 16- December 14. Your donations will be distributed to the Bethlehem House and surrounding community.

 PAST PROJECTS

November 2008 - NLC Sharefest

We laid wood laminate flooring in the BH hallway, painted the men's upstairs bathroom, planted pansies and raked a ton of leaves! Check us out, we even made it into the Log Cabin paper!

November 2008 - Get Pampered

We made a huge difference in the lives of some very deserving women! We served women from the Dorcas House in Little Rock, our local women's shelter in Conway and the Bethlehem House. We provided a day of pampering to the women and their children with hair cuts, makeovers, manicures and they were each given a basket full of goodies. Thanks to our Foundry volunteers and to the women at Harrington and Company for all of of their help!

September 2008 - NLC Car Care Clinic
NLC sponsored a Car Care Clinic for single moms and under privileged families. We made a difference in the lives of over 30 individuals by fixing, washing cars and ministering to people in our community!

September  2008 - Foundry Grill Out!
We had a fantastic time for fellowship with the residents and underserved families from the community. This was one of our best events yet! Thanks to all of our caring volunteers who made this possible!

September 2008 - Ronald McDonald Outreach
We had an awesome time cooking Taco Salad for the families staying at our local Ronal McDonald House. The families were really appreciative! Thanks to all of our volunteers that braved the bad weather to support this event.

August 2008 -
We began rennovation on the main floor bathrooms including moving electrical outlets and replacing old light fixtures. We pulled weeds, painted trim, repainted the back bathroom, and scrubbed bath tubs/floors. All of the volunteers went to Somethings Brewing afterwards for good eats!

July 2008 - We had an awesome time with all of the Foundry volunteers! We repainted the back entrance and steps. We also pulled weeds and cleaned up the Bethlehem House's landscaping.

June 2008 - Thanks to everyone who helped repaint the laundry room and install a fan for the executive director's office!

May 2008 -  Our group raised over $500 at the local political pie auction! We also supported the Bethlehem House Sleep Out to raise community awareness about homelessness.

April 2008 - Our group continued landscaping on the front and back lawns. We also fixed the broken playground equipment!

March 2008 - We had a group of 15 dedicated volunteers that worked in rainy and cold weather conditions to re-landscape the front lawn at the Bethlehem House. We really appreciate all of our helpers!

February 2008 - We had a wonderful time repainting the shelter's entryway & hallway! We also cleaned up, took some things to the Salvation Army, and painted a desk.

January 2008 - We focused on their quiet room, which was in desperate need of attention. We cleared the room, patched holes in the drywall, painted the walls and furniture, and replaced bookshelves. In addition, we took on the monumental task of clearing their donations collection site. The collections became unmanageable and had been damaged by rain. With the help of our volunteers, over 4 tons of trash was hauled off!
